Podis

Made with a traditional recipe, our rasam podi is not only the base for very tasty rasam, but also has wonderful medicinal properties. Made with sun dried spices and powdered a bit coarsely, the rasam can also be consumed as soup on cold winter nights. A family tip: The sediment, bottom layer of the rasam, thick with toor dal and juicy tomatoes, is an excellent side dish for dosas and idlis!

The permanent side dish for dosas and idlis! Never mind if you can’t prepare a sambar or chutney to pair with your idli or dosa, a small scoop of this powder would do. Mix it with just a little gingelly oil, and you have a spicy, crispy side dish. Prepared with roasted urad and channa dal, with the right proportion of red chillies, sesame seeds, hing, it can also be used as side dish for curd rice. We have garlic mixed idli powder too.

Paruppu podi

If you don’t feel like cooking, but only have some cooked rice, here’s the best comfort food you can imagine: Paruppu podi. This toor dhal, pepper, red chilly, garlic and horse gram based podi, is not only very spicy and tasty, but also nutritious. A tablespoon of our powder, mixed with a bowl of steaming hot rice and ghee or oil, is a complete meal by itself. Pair it with roasted pappads or a crunchy salad. Can also be used as a side dish for curd rice.

Sambar podi

The secret behind a superb bowl of sambar is the quality of the podi. It’s shelf life is six months and can be stored in a dry cool place. Try it for that exclusive lip smacking sambar!
